Choosing the Right Gutter Color

There are a number of questions to ask before you choose a gutter color, and they are very dependent on the color of your house exterior, your roof, and the trim of the building.

1. Do you want the gutters to blend in, or provide subtle contrast to frame your house?
   • Consider the color of your roof and exterior and the architectural style your house uses. Do you want your gutter colors to stand out, providing sharper lines? Or do you want your gutters to appear almost invisible?
2. Are you concerned about dirt and debris being evident on your seamless gutters?
   • Mud, debris, and grass clippings can all collect in or on your gutters. If you’re performing weekly maintenance, or you don’t mind a little dirt, lighter colors are fine choices. If you’re concerned about the appearance of your gutters, choose a darker color to mask dirt and other debris.
3. Are you willing to spend a little more on your gutters?
   • Seamless gutter colors typically need to be hand-painted with specially formulated paint. It will cost a little more–but won’t it be worth it when your house looks exactly the way you want it?
